Millions of Americans who rely on Social Security retirement checks will see their next payment arrive soon.

On Wednesday, June 18, the SSA will issue its latest batch of monthly payments as part of the June schedule.

This round also includes payouts for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and survivor benefits.

Who Will Receive a Social Security Check on Wednesday, June 18?

Out of the nearly 70 million people receiving retirement, SSDI, or survivor benefits, most get paid on one of three Wednesdays each month. The exact Wednesday depends on the beneficiary’s date of birth.

Those with birthdays falling between the 11th and 20th of any month will receive their  checks on June 18.

This is the second wave of June’s three-part Wednesday schedule, which began on June 11 with payments to individuals born between the 1st and 10th.

June 2025 Wednesday Payment Schedule:

  • Wednesday, June 11: Birthdays from 1st to 10th

  • Wednesday, June 18: Birthdays from 11th to 20th

  • Wednesday, June 25: Birthdays from 21st to 31st

Who Gets Paid Outside of the Wednesday Schedule?

If you started receiving retirement, SSDI, or survivor benefits before May 1997, your payment typically arrives on the 3rd of each month, regardless of your birth date.

For recipients of Supplemental Security Income (SSI)—a program for low-income individuals aged 65+ or with a disability—checks are usually delivered on the 1st of each month.

Those who qualify for both SSI and other Social Security benefits generally receive SSI on the 1st and retirement or disability payments on the 3rd.

Since June 1 fell on a Sunday this year, SSI payments were moved up to Friday, May 30.

June 2025 Payment Dates for Non-Wednesday Recipients:

  • Friday, May 30: SSI payments

  • Tuesday, June 3: Social Security for pre-May 1997 recipients

  • Dual recipients: SSI on May 30, Social Security on June 3

To check the full 2025 payment schedule, visit the SSA’s official website and download the PDF calendar.

How Much Do Retirees Receive in Social Security Benefits?

Retired workers make up the bulk of Social Security recipients, with the average monthly check totaling $2,002.39, according to the SSA’s latest data.

The maximum possible monthly benefit is $5,108.

Average Monthly Payments for Other SSA Beneficiaries:

  • Disabled workers: $1,581.97

  • Survivor beneficiaries: $1,566.66

  • SSI recipients: $718.30
