The U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA) is gearing up to distribute its latest round of monthly benefit checks.
Millions of Americans receiving Social Security retirement benefits are set to get their newest payment next week.
On Wednesday, June 25, the SSA will issue the next round of retirement payments according to this month’s distribution schedule. Alongside retirement benefits, Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and survivor benefits are also scheduled for release that day.
Who will receive a Social Security payment on Wednesday, June 25?
Among the approximately 70 million people receiving retirement, SSDI, or survivor benefits in the U.S., most are paid on one of three Wednesdays each month. A person’s specific Wednesday depends on their birthdate.
On June 25, payments will be sent to those born between the 21st and 31st of any month. This marks the final Wednesday payment for June, following earlier distributions on June 11 and June 18.
June 2025 Wednesday Payment Schedule
-
Wednesday, June 11: Birthdates from 1st to 10th
-
Wednesday, June 18: Birthdates from 11th to 20th
-
Wednesday, June 25: Birthdates from 21st to 31st
Who gets paid outside of the Wednesday schedule?
If you started collecting retirement, SSDI, or survivor benefits before May 1997, you generally receive your payment on the third of each month, regardless of your birthdate.
Recipients of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) — a benefit designed for low-income individuals aged 65 and older or those with disabilities — typically get paid on the first of each month.
For people receiving both SSI and other SSA benefits, the SSI payment is issued on the first, and the Social Security payment follows on the third.
Because June began on a Sunday, this month’s SSI payments were sent early, on Friday, May 30.
Non-Wednesday Recipients – June 2025 Schedule
-
Friday, May 30: SSI payments
-
Tuesday, June 3: Social Security payments for pre-May 1997 recipients
-
If receiving both: SSI on May 30, Social Security on June 3
