A Tupelo man faces charges after allegedly assaulting a deputy during a weekend traffic stop in Pontotoc County.
According to the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Office, 34-year-old Jimmie Townsend was pulled over near Lee Line Road. When deputies informed him he was being arrested due to an outstanding warrant, Townsend reportedly attacked the officer.
