A Jackson man is behind bars after allegedly biting a police officer during a confrontation.
Rayshun Williams faces charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and sale of marijuana. He appeared in Jackson Municipal Court on Wednesday, where Judge Jeffrey Reynolds set his bond at $500,000 — including $100,000 for the marijuana charge and $400,000 for the assault.
Court records indicate that Williams allegedly got into a struggle with an officer and bit him on the arm. The officer was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Williams, however, has denied the allegation.
He remains in custody at the Raymond Detention Center.
