Original Incident
The violence erupted Thursday just after 12 p.m. in the 1000 block of Hamilton Avenue, a residential area just south of Weisser Park.
Police say the shooting stemmed from a previous fight at a local beauty parlor. Investigators believe tensions reignited when a man and a woman exited a home on Hamilton Avenue. As the woman attempted to flee in her car, the man opened fire.
The car crashed into a nearby home about a block away, and the woman was found dead from gunshot wounds.
Shortly after the initial shooting, the male shooter was fatally shot by an unidentified individual, who fled the scene. Authorities are still searching for that shooter.
Initially, police released a wanted poster for Shan Lindell Ford Jr., warning the public that he was armed and dangerous.
Anyone with further information is urged to contact Fort Wayne Police or reach out to Greater Fort Wayne Crime Stoppers.
