In a horrifying case of child abuse that has stunned Ohio, a mother, her boyfriend, and a third man have been convicted for their roles in a savage assault that left a 6-year-old boy seriously injured after being mauled by a dog. The boy was handcuffed at the hands and feet during the attack, which was allegedly used as a form of punishment.
Deputies responded to a home around 5 p.m. on a Saturday after receiving reports of a young child being attacked by a pit bull. When officers arrived, they found the boy suffering from severe wounds to his neck and ear. Due to the seriousness of his injuries, the child was airlifted to a hospital for urgent medical care.

Authorities quickly identified three individuals involved: 28-year-old A. Williams, the boy’s mother; her boyfriend, 29-year-old T. Brown; and 47-year-old R. Michalski, the homeowner and owner of the dog. Investigators believe Williams and Brown handcuffed the child and then deliberately provoked the dog to attack him.
During the search of the home, deputies found Michalski hiding in an upstairs crawl space along with the dog. The animal was later seized by animal control and officially labeled as “vicious.”
Evidence gathered from the scene strongly supported the allegations of child endangerment. All three were arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including administering corporal punishment that posed a serious risk of physical harm. The prosecutor’s office emphasized that the attack was not accidental but a premeditated act of cruelty designed to inflict prolonged pain.
Following a four-day trial, Michalski was found guilty of two counts of complicity to commit child endangerment and one count of tampering with evidence — all felony charges. He was acquitted of kidnapping, possessing criminal tools, and an additional endangerment charge.
Williams, the boy’s mother, pleaded guilty last month to one count of kidnapping and four counts of child endangerment. Her boyfriend, Brown, had earlier pleaded guilty to three counts of complicity to a felony — including kidnapping and two counts of child endangerment — as well as obstructing justice.
The 6-year-old boy and his sister have since been placed under the care of a legal guardian to ensure their safety. The disturbing details of the abuse have drawn widespread outrage from the public.
Michalski is scheduled to be sentenced on July 21, 2025, and could face up to nine years in prison. Williams is due for sentencing on June 30, and Brown on July 14 — both could receive up to 40 years behind bars for their roles in the assault and attempted cover-up.
