A Shelby County man has been arrested following an investigation into illegal drug sales targeting local high school students.
Anfernee Richardson faces charges of two counts of drug trafficking and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
The arrest stemmed from information received by the sheriff’s Drug Enforcement Task Force, which launched an investigation based on a tip from the patrol division.
On Friday, officers executed two search warrants at residences in the Chelsea and Inverness areas. The searches resulted in the seizure of:

Approximately 8.5 pounds of marijuana

5 grams of oxycodone

A firearm
Authorities have not released further details on the connection to high school students, but say the investigation is ongoing.
