Isaias Aroldo Contreras, 26, of Sacramento, received a five-year prison sentence for possessing fentanyl with the intent to distribute.
Authorities searched Contreras’s home on January 5, 2023, and found a large stash of fentanyl-laced pills designed to resemble oxycodone “M-30” tablets, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
During the DEA raid, agents also uncovered a loaded Glock 9 mm pistol, a money counter, and $31,154 in cash hidden alongside luxury items, including a diamond-encrusted Rolex watch and custom diamond jewelry.
A judge ordered the cash and jewelry to be forfeited. Investigators found messages on Contreras’s phone, dated between March 2020 and December 2022, detailing drug deals involving counterfeit M-30 pills and kilogram-level cocaine transactions, the U.S. Attorney’s Office reported.
The case was part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces program, which coordinates multiple law enforcement agencies to take down major drug networks. Homeland Security Investigations and the Sacramento Area Intelligence/Narcotics Task Force led the investigation, focusing on halting the spread of fentanyl and other opioids.
